Violet started with only 5 lemons and an idea: to make some freshly squeezed lemonade, and then sell it to raise some money for cancer care. With the help of a neighbour, she was able to make 2 jugs of homemade lemonade and her quest to raise money was posted to Facebook with amazing results.
The neighbour then brought Violet to BGH to meet Dr. Levesque and the nurses in the Oncology Department. While there, Violet was able to donate the money she raised for the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic. She sold all of her lemonade and raised $155 in one hour!
In Violet’s own words, “…that was the best day ever.” Thank you to everyone who supported this wonderful fundraising initiative! And a special ‘Thank You’ to Violet for all of her hard work!
