Trul Trulsen continues a wave of generosity by donating to Belleville General Hospital Foundation in appreciation of his own excellent health care experiences.

A recent news article about another donation to Belleville General Hospital Foundation prompted Trul Trulsen to reflect on his own health experiences and take action to keep his local hospital strong.

“I read the story about Al Suba’s donation in honour of the care he and his wife received at BGH, and it really grabbed my attention,” said Mr. Trulsen. “I thought it was a powerful act of generosity and it inspired me to dig deep, and do what I can as a fellow grateful patient and member of this community.”

“Trul’s gift is a wonderful example of giving back, but also, giving forward,” said Steve Cook, Executive Director, BGHF. “His donation will help purchase critical equipment to care for people across our entire region, for years to come. We’re incredibly grateful for his support and motivated to keep the momentum going!”

Like Mr Suba’s gift, this donation will be directed towards the Foundation’s Be Well Campaign, which aims to raise $20M for critical regional services at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital (BGH) including Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, the Fracture Clinic, and priority equipment purchases. BGH serves as the center of important regional services for more than 190,000 patients, from Bancroft to Picton.

Mr. Trulsen encourages others to join in and continue the wave of appreciation and support. “I received great care from Dr. Bardell and Dr. Kawam,” he shared. “I want them – and all the doctors and nurses at BGH- to have the equipment they need to continue providing excellent care to my family, friends, neighbours and myself. With government not covering these costs, it’s up to all of us to help make that happen.”
