The 6th annual Ken Bonisteel Memorial Golf Tournament was held in August 2024 and raised a record $8,920 this year for Oncology Services at Belleville General Hospital. The tournament has now raised over $30,000 for the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic at Belleville General Hospital. This new lifetime total means that a new Ken Bonisteel memorial plaque has been issued for the family at their new giving level and added to the BGHF Memorial Wall.
Jason Bonisteel commented, “My dad always thought it ‘would be cool to do a golf tournament’ as a memorial, and we took that idea and ran with it. He had a deep love for hockey and golf, but most importantly, he loved bringing friends together for a good time. This tournament has become the perfect way to honor his legacy and continue what he enjoyed most – sharing fun times with great people while supporting a cause close to his heart.”
The Bonisteel family would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the years – the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and all the friends and family who continue to make this event so special.
“Your generosity and dedication allow us to make a real difference for Belleville General Hospital and our community” says Jason, “Thank you for helping us keep my dad’s spirit alive, and we look forward to seeing the tournament grow in the years to come.”
