Belleville General Hospital Foundation is one step closer to purchasing new equipment for the Nuclear Medicine department with $10,000 raised, thanks to donations from McDonald’s in Belleville and Madoc and the local community.

On Friday, July 23, 2021, Doyle Foods with three McDonald’s locations in Belleville and the store in Madoc, donated one dollar from every McDonalds Hot McCafé and Big Mac sold.

Belleville Police Officers, a couple of Belleville City Councillors, some of the senior leadership team from Quinte Heath Care and community volunteers helped make up the amazing contingent, who approached people at the drive-thru to ask for their support and together with McDonald’s raised $10,000.

BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook says, “We need to replace the current cameras in the Nuclear Medicine Department. Support from Bob Doyle and the local McDonald’s and these community donations, take us one step closer to making sure we upgrade this life saving equipment for everyone in our community who needs it.”

The projected cost of two new cameras is approximately $2.2 million, so BGHF’s fundraising effort will provide a boost in helping provide funding for this vital equipment.

Bob Doyle, owner of the McDonalds stores in Belleville (North Front St, Bayview Mall, Walmart) and the Madoc store, has been a long-time supporter and current board member of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. Doyle says, “These nuclear medicine cameras come with a big price tag. They have been a priority for BGHF and if McDonald’s can do anything to make this project one step closer to reality, then we are happy to help out.”
