A ‘GEM’ of an Opportunity – BGHF Launches Door-to-Door Monthly Donor Campaign

This March, the Belleville General Hospital Foundation is hitting the streets once again, partnering with Globalfaces Direct to reignite its ‘GEM’ (Give Every Month) Campaign a vital initiative encouraging the community to support local healthcare through monthly donations.

Last year, more than 1,000 generous donors joined the GEM program, helping to establish a sustainable revenue stream that contributed over $222,000 towards the purchase of critical medical equipment at Belleville General Hospital. Now, BGHF is rallying the community once again, calling on residents to step up and pledge what they can to ensure exceptional healthcare remains close to home.

“With an average monthly gift of around $25, our donors are proving that small, consistent contributions make a huge impact in the long run”, said Steven Cook, Executive Director of BGHF. “These funds allow us to respond to urgent medical needs for Quinte Health whether its new diagnostic tools, state-of-the-art surgical equipment, or enhanced patient care. Every single donor helps ensure families in our region get the best care, right here at home.”

Unlike operational costs, which are funded by the province, the purchase of life-saving hospital equipment is entirely dependent on community donations. This reality makes monthly giving one of the most powerful ways to sustain and enhance healthcare services in the Quinte region.

“Imagine its you, your child, or a loved one in need of urgent care.”, added Cook. “That’s why this matters it’s about looking after our families, our neighbours, and our future. The government doesn’t buy medical equipment ‘we do’. It’s our responsibility as a community to ensure our hospital has the resources to provide exceptional care when it’s needed most.”

As the door-to-door canvassers from Globalfaces make their rounds throughout the month, BGHF encourages everyone to sign up and become a GEM donor. It’s simple, secure, and makes a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients.
