The Belleville General Hospital Foundation is proud to announce a $100,000 pledge from Dennis and Sheila McCullough, unveiled during the Foundation’s November Game On Gala, an evening that showcased the extraordinary generosity and leadership of the local business community.

The announcement came at a pivotal moment during the Gala, as donors and supporters rallied together to raise critical funds toward a new tomosynthesis mammography machine – a leading-edge technology that will significantly enhance early breast cancer detection at Belleville General Hospital.

Owners of Canadian Tire Belleville, Dennis and Sheila McCullough are widely recognized as pillars of the community, with a longstanding history of philanthropy across numerous non-profit boards and organizations. Their latest commitment builds on decades of advocacy for strong, accessible healthcare and reflects the family’s own lived experiences navigating life’s health challenges over the years.

“A hospital is truly the cornerstone of any community,” said Dennis McCullough. “Our belief in supporting local healthcare comes not only from our own family’s experiences, but from the people we work with every day. Our staff and their families deserve the very best care, close to home. Supporting the hospital is about showing up for the people who make our community what it is.”

The Game On Gala proved to be a powerful call to action, with unprecedented support from local businesses, sponsors, and individual donors who stood united in the fight against cancer.

“This year’s Gala was nothing short of inspiring,” said Steven Cook, Executive Director of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “Time and again, donors felt compelled to stand up against cancer—together. It reminded us that this is a disease we can overcome, shoulder to shoulder, as a community. Dennis and Sheila’s leadership gift sent a powerful message that momentum matters, and generosity saves lives.”

In a year defined by unity and purpose, the Belleville General Hospital Foundation has already achieved the most successful fundraising year in its 41-year history—an unprecedented milestone made possible by a community that refused to stand still in the face of cancerAs this historic year draws to a close, there is still time to be part of this momentum and receive a 2025 tax receipt, helping ensure this extraordinary impact continues well into the year ahead.

The Belleville General Hospital Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to Dennis & Sheila McCullough, along with all donors in 2025 for their remarkable generosity and commitment to advancing local healthcare.
