In the summer of 2020, Grace Bonn and Sophie Gaber decided to start a handmade bracelet company. It was a Covid summer and they realized they had nothing but time on their hands. Their business making friendship bracelets quickly evolved to glass beads and gemstones and Beads by the Bay Company was born!
The two entrepreneurs believe in giving back to our community. Grace and Sophie created a special edition bracelet where they would donate 100% of the proceeds to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. After several months selling the bracelets online and through the support of Quinte Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Specialists, they presented BGHF with a cheque for $750.00. Grace and Sophie say, “We chose to create a bracelet and donate 100% of the proceeds to the BGHF because we know how hard our health care workers have worked to get through COVID. We wanted to do our part to help where we could.”
