Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s “Fairways for Fractures” fundraising golf tournament was held Thursday June 13th at Black Bear Golf Course. Over $46,000 was raised for a new Fracture Clinic at Belleville General Hospital. Members of the Belleville Sens team came out to play and support the fundraising for this important regional fracture clinic.
The Belleville Senators recently donated $20,000 to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation as part of its 2018-19 50/50 efforts. This money will be combined with the proceeds of the BGHF golf tournament and kicks the fundraising for the clinic into high gear. The Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) has committed to raise $375,000 in support of this project.
Dr. Andrew Pickle said “The fracture clinic is probably the busiest clinic in the entire Quinte Health Corporation. The clinic is outdated and small and for a variety of reasons needs to updated.” He said with this recent support this is going to happen now. The current Fracture Clinic is shared by six surgeons. This regional clinic sees upwards of 13,000 patients per year and that number is rising. As the demand for hip and knee replacements increase and emergent cases continue to increase, the need for a new clinic is paramount.
Thank you Belleville Sens for helping us put our best foot forward for all the patients who need the Fracture Clinic in Quinte!
