We are thrilled to announce the winner of the 2024 Camp4Cancer Lottery grand prize – a $45,000 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite Travel Trailer – is Norma Hitchlock from Trenton, with ticket #0091!

“Congratulations Norma! You’ll be enjoying this summer in style with your incredible prize.” said Steve Cook, Executive Director, Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “And a heartfelt thank you to every ticket buyer. At the end of the day, we’re all winners, with almost $148,000 raised to support the purchase of equipment and drugs for cancer patients at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital. Your support will make care even better for every cancer patient in our community.”

When contacted with the good news Norma shared “I’m very excited. I’ve supported the hospital for a long time, so when I saw this chance to do that in a new way, I bought some tickets right away.”

Cook went on to say, “I want to also thank our incredible partners at Carl Cox RV, without whom this initiative would not be possible. Jeff, Lori, Catharine, and the entire team are 100% behind their local hospital, and I’m honoured to have their support.”

A special element of today’s draw was the winning ticket was picked by Catharine Cox’s grandfather and cancer survivor, James Terry.

“Cancer impacts all of us, including my grandfather, and we’re grateful for the care he received from Dr Lévesque and BGH. It’s important to our family to get behind this initiative in every way we can,” said Catharine Cox, Carl Cox RV. “From supporting with the vehicle, to helping make it possible for the Foundation to sell hundreds of tickets at the Quinte Sportsman Show, we’re so proud to be part of this great initiative.”

This was Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s third Camp4Cancer Lottery, and the initiative is going from strength to strength. 7,109 tickets were sold province-wide and $147,745 raised. Overall, BGHF Super Draws have raised $1.1M since launching in 2020.

BGHF has ambitious plans to build on this success in 2024, planning four more lotteries this year.
