A Legacy of Love: Olivia Taylor Tee Fundraiser Supports the Children’s Treatment Centre at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital
On Monday, July 28, Belleville General Hospital Foundation was honoured to receive a heartfelt gift in memory of a remarkable little girl, Olivia Taylor. Through the Olivia Taylor Tee Fundraiser, family, friends, and community members came together to raise $1,300 in support of the Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC) at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital.
Born at BGH in May 2022, Olivia faced significant health challenges from her very first moments, challenges that her family met with extraordinary love and resilience. Diagnosed with two rare diseases—Early Infantile Epileptic Encephalopathy and a Chromosome Micro-Deletion—Olivia spent her first 33 days in the NICU at Kingston General Hospital before returning home and into the care of the dedicated team at the CTC.
“The Children’s Treatment Centre has been there for everything and more,” Olivia’s family shared. “They helped Olivia with head and neck control, fine motor skills, seating supports, scoliosis care, feeding education, and even financial guidance. We are forever grateful for their support.”
In January 2025, Olivia passed away at just over two and a half years old. In honour of what would have been her third birthday, Olivia’s family partnered with local disability advocate Sarah Patterson and The Speak Up Brand to launch a meaningful fundraiser benefiting the CTC.
Thanks to t-shirt sales and generous donations from loved ones and community members, $2,300 has now been raised in Olivia’s memory, funds that will help provide vital care and support to other children and families navigating complex medical needs.
“We are so touched that Olivia’s family chose to honour her in this way,” said Amanda Grydziuszko, Associate Director at BGH Foundation. “Their gift is an incredible tribute to her life and a meaningful way to support other families receiving care through the Children’s Treatment Centre.”
To Olivia’s family: thank you for sharing her story and for honouring her in such a powerful way. Your gift will help ensure that other children receive the same compassionate, comprehensive care that meant so much to you.
