Giant Tiger Belleville stores and Belleville General Hospital Foundation partner to improve care for local moms and babies.

Today, Giant Tiger and Belleville General Hospital Foundation proudly launched a campaign to raise funds to purchase a new ultrasound machine for the Maternal Child unit at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital.

Customers will have the opportunity to donate $2 or more at the checkout at Giant Tiger Belleville stores, located at 161 Bridge St. W and 264 Millennium Pkwy.

100% of donations will go directly towards helping BGH Foundation close a $25,000 funding gap to purchase a new ultrasound machine that will be used for the care of expecting mothers and their babies.

“We are thrilled to partner with Belleville General Hospital Foundation on this important initiative,” said Sacha Whitton, Owner, Store 205, Millennium Pkwy. “As a community-focused retailer, we recognize the significance of investing in healthcare resources that benefit local families. Together with our customers, we know we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of newborns and their families in our community.”

Kevin Mathieu, Manager, Store 64, Sydney and Bridge St added, “I’m newer to the Belleville area, but it’s clear how important BGH is to this community. Local initiatives like this are what set Giant Tiger and our customers apart. I can’t wait to see how far we get towards the goal.”

Belleville General Hospital provides state of the art health care in obstetrical, postpartum, pediatric and neonatal inpatient services. Over 1,400 babies from Brighton to Napanee, Picton to Bancroft, begin their lives each year at BGH. BGH Foundation’s mission is to ensure the hospital has the equipment needed to give each of these miracles the best possible start.

“We’re excited to launch this partnership with Giant Tiger in the lead up to Mother’s Day, to support a piece of equipment that plays a vital role in managing health conditions, guiding treatments, and providing crucial insights for expectant mothers,” shared Steve Cook, Executive Director, BGH Foundation. “Ultrasound does so much for so many. It also. It stands as a testament to how many lives can be saved with one piece of equipment.”
