The Belleville General Hospital Foundation kicked off its 10th Annual “I’m In” Staff Campaign yesterday with a lively pizza party event, generously supported by Boston Pizza Belleville. This year, the campaign is set to reach unprecedented heights, thanks to an extraordinary $50,000 matching gift from Maple Dale Cheese. This game-changing contribution has the potential to double every dollar raised, inspiring staff to take their support to the next level.

“This $50,000 matching gift is a transformational opportunity,” said Steven Cook, Executive Director of BGHF. “It’s not just about meeting a fundraising goal – it’s about leveraging every single contribution to make an even greater impact. Every contribution can amplify the collective impact of our staff and with 38 new payroll pledges and 69 increases just on day one, it’s clear that our staff are rallying behind this opportunity to make a difference like never before.”

The “I’m In” campaign, now in its 10th year, has raised over $1 million since its inception. What began as a $70,000 annual effort, through payroll contributions, has grown exponentially; with this year’s target set at $250,000 – a testament to the unwavering commitment of Belleville General Hospital staff. Staff can be seen wearing BGHF ‘I’M IN” branded T shirts, hoodies and other swag in droves over the next month.

For Emma Holmes, ICU Patient Care Lead RN, the campaign represents more than just dollars and cents – it’s about delivering excellence in healthcare. “I give, alongside my colleagues, because we believe in collectively ensuring our hospital is best in class,” Holmes said. “As an ICU nurse, I want the best healthcare outcomes for our patients, and that starts with ensuring we have the best equipment.”

With government funding falling short of covering essential equipment needs, this campaign empowers staff to bridge the gap, ensuring their peers and patients benefit from state-of-the-art tools. The $50,000 matching gift amplifies this mission, galvanizing staff to make a difference like never before.

Adding to the momentum, the campaign continues to draw support from loyal community partners, including Cintas, QXplore, You Make Me Smile Dental, Quinte Ortho, Rufo Real Estate, and Mackay Insurance. Together with BGH staff, they are proving that “Stronger Together” is not just a mantra – it’s a movement.
