This week, both of our Cab4Cancer Lotto Winners claimed their prizes at the Belleville General Hospital Foundation office.
The Cab4Cancer Grand Prize winner is Ann Messenger of Kingston, with Ticket #99024297002, who had to choose between the Ford F-150 Lariat or a $90,000 cash prize — she chose the cash!
The winner of the 50/50 Prize Draw for $30,087.50, is Alan Hernden of Quinte West, with Ticket #99024544083. Alan is currently living with a cancer diagnosis and is a vocal advocate for how important the BGHF super draws are to local cancer care.
The funds raised through the CabCancer Lottery are crucial for equipping Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital with cutting-edge medical equipment to diagnose and treat local cancer patients, as well as supporting access to drugs not funded by Cancer Care Ontario. This ensures that patients receive the best possible care locally, minimizing the need for long-distance travel while receiving testing and ongoing care.
Wayne Sheppard, BGH Foundation Board Chair commented, “It’s heartening to witness firsthand the difference we’re making together. These lottery funds allow us to equip our cancer clinic with the latest technologies and support services that make all the difference in patient care and outcomes.”
Congratulations to both of our winners and a big Thank You to everyone who purchased tickets in support of Cancer Care Services at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital!
