The late Ruth Cadieux who passed away on December 27, 2019 has left part of her estate to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation for mental health purposes. Ruth was a long time employee of the hospital and a strong supporter of mental health care. To date the Foundation has received $337,500, with a total anticipated bequest of $460,000 to be forthcoming.
Executive Director Steve Cook commented, “We are so grateful to Ruth and her generosity, especially in this time of extreme mental health demands.” Covid 19 has brought a surge in patients seeking mental health care with BGH crisis center phone calls up 38% compared to pre pandemic levels.
