A Winning Day for Local Resident, and Local Cancer Care

Grand prize winner drawn for Belleville General Hospital’s 2023 Camp4Cancer Lottery

Drumroll please! Belleville General Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce the winner of the 2023 Camp4Cancer Lottery grand prize – a $45,000 Forest River Salem Cruise RV – is Artur Rylski from Madoc!

“Congratulations Artur! We can’t wait for you to enjoy your fabulous new trailer,” said Steve Cook, Executive Director, Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “And a massive thanks to all ticket buyers. At the end of the day, we’re all winners, with funds supporting the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic at Belleville General Hospital. Your support will make care even better for the 16,000+ patients who rely on the clinic each year.”

This was Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s second Camp4Cancer Lottery, and the initiative is going from strength to strength. Sales increased almost 10% from 2022, to over 7,400 tickets sold and $150,000 raised. People from across Ontario took part – from Ottawa to Elliot Lake.

Another highlight this year was selling tickets at the Quinte Sportsman Show, organized by Camp4Cancer partners Jeff and Lori Cox.

“Cancer impacts all of us, so it’s important to our family to get behind this initiative in every way we can,” said Jeff Cox, Owner, Carl Cox RV. “From supporting with the vehicle, to helping make it possible for the Foundation to sell hundreds of tickets at the Sportsman Show, we’re so proud to be part of this great initiative.”

“I honestly can’t believe it, I thought someone was playing a joke on me!” exclaimed winner, Artur Ryliski. “My wife bought me the tickets for my birthday – talk about the best gift ever! I can’t wait to get out and enjoy the RV this summer.”
