Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary donates $100,000 to Belleville General Hospital Foundation to bring fundraising finish line in sight for Fracture Clinic redevelopment.

Belleville General Hospital Foundation is celebrating an outstanding $100,000 donation from the BGH Auxiliary in support of the redevelopment of the Fracture Clinic at Belleville General Hospital.

This gift brings the Auxiliary’s total support for the project to $200,000 and means BGHF is within $250,000 of the final fundraising goal.

The cheque was formally presented at the Auxiliary’s annual Holiday lunch, a cherished tradition that brings members together to celebrate a year of service and giving.

“The holidays are a time for giving, and supporting our hospital is at the heart of what we do,” said Paul Reesor, BGHA President. “Our members are incredibly proud to support the Fracture Clinic redevelopment. Many of us, our families, and our neighbours have relied on fracture care at BGH. This gift reflects our commitment to helping close out this project, so patients and hospital staff have the space and resources they need.”

The Fracture Clinic redevelopment at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital, will enhance care for patients recovering from broken bones and orthopedic injuries, improving accessibility, comfort, and overall experience for both patients and care teams. The clinic sees thousands of patients each year and plays a vital role in helping people return to work, daily activities, and independence as quickly and safely as possible.

“The BGH Auxiliary has been walking alongside BGH Foundation for almost three decades, and this gift is a beautiful example of that enduring partnership,” said Wayne Sheppard, Board Chair, BGHF. “At the holidays, when we reflect on community and compassion, this donation stands out as an important investment in a priority fundraising campaign.”

The Auxiliary’s committed team of 200 volunteers serve patients and visitors across the hospital through their programs and services, including the Aroma Café and Gift Shop at BGH, and the Opportunity Shop in downtown Belleville.
