Vicki Smith
After university, my husband Peter Smith and myself started off working for GM Sales in Oshawa. A year after our daughter was born we decided to returned to Burlington where I grew up to be close to family and Sick Kids for our daughter who was born with a birth defect. In 2004 we bought the local General Motors franchise and moved the family to Belleville. While working at the business we both got involved with many community organizations. I was a hockey team manager for several years then joined the BMHA board of directors for 2 terms as the sponsorship chair. My primary goal was to implement a concussion management program for minor hockey players which we accomplished in 2012.
As many of you know in Nov. 2019, we suddenly and tragically lost my husband Peter. As his executor I am still involved with his business holdings and recently sold the GM franchise. The new owners, Canada One have asked me to continue as a Community Ambassador and handle charitable donations. I look forward to serving on the BGH Foundation board.
