Today we received a cheque for $75,000 from the late Lisa Martha Simpkins. Her daughter, Cathie Sullivan, was on hand to present it. Mrs. Simpkins left the donation in her will to the Oncology Department at BGH, as she had a long battle with cancer. She passed away in June 2020 of cancer, having battled it on 3 occasions, notably breast and lung cancer – she was 91.
Lisa Martha Simpkins’ appreciation for quality healthcare lead her to making a will 4 years ago, where wanted to leave a legacy that would also help others to receive the same care she did. She was particularly impressed with her oncologists at BGH – Dr. Chooback and Dr. Levesque – who helped her significantly during her health journey.
Thank you Lisa and Cathie!
