January 28Nuclear Medicine Capital Campaign a Huge Success!
$3.9M Goal Completed
Did the cancer come back?
Where is the infection?
Are my kidneys failing?
When your health or the health of someone you love is at risk, fast, accurate diagnosis and treatment can make all the difference.
To give the patients we serve – your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues – the best care possible, our team here at Belleville General Hospital (BGH) prioritized the need for two new SPECT-CT machines back in 2019.
This advanced imaging technology combines two different types of scans, giving us a 3D view of how different parts of the body are functioning. Advanced images like these are vital to the clear and precise diagnose a range of medical conditions and to adjust treatment accordingly
But the only way we can purchase this life-saving medical equipment is with your support.
So, BGHF launched an ambitious campaign to respond to this critical need. We knew it was a big undertaking, but we also knew if there was any community who would rise to the challenge, it would be BGHF donors.
Fast forward five years, countless conversations, one record breaking $742K Gala, an astounding 1,500 donors and a total of $3.9M raised, we are thrilled to share that because of you, we’ve completed our goal and work has started to install the two new, high performing cameras.
This week, we were thrilled to host a group of campaign leadership donors in for a behind the scenes look at the early progress.
Because of the incredible generosity of: the John M. and Bernice Parrott Foundation, County of Hastings, Maurice and Marilyn Rollins Foundation, Walter Thomas Elliott Charitable Foundation, Lanny & Catharine Huff, Ralph Johnson & Tony Martin, the Lehtinen Family, and Lynda Wheeler Foundation PLUS over 1,500 other community members who stepped up for their local hospital, this critical regional service, which is essential to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, cardiac disease and so many other conditions will be stronger than ever.
Steve Cook, Executive Director, Belleville General Hospital Foundation has this special message to share: “As we celebrate the culmination of our fundraising efforts for this momentous project – I’m filled with profound gratitude for the generosity of our community. When we started fundraising in 2019, we knew it was a big undertaking, and I couldn’t be prouder of the more than 1,500 donors who stepped up and contributed towards the $3.9 million goal to bring this project to life. Your belief in our mission to keep exceptional care close to home has allowed us to achieve a significant milestone in our journey towards advancing healthcare excellence for our region. Thank you.”
Stay tuned for more updates over the summer, as this project advances, and for more opportunities for campaign donors to experience firsthand, the impact of their support!
