$75,000 raised in just 8 days as community support races toward $400,000 goal
In what can only be described as a runaway success, the latest Car4Cancer Lotto has ignited an unprecedented wave of generosity and excitement across Ontario. In just over one week, the campaign has blown past $75,000 in sales, making it the fastest-selling launch in Belleville General Hospital Foundation history.
At the heart of the campaign’s success? A jaw-dropping 2025 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible, generously supported by Lange & Fetter Ford of Trenton—and a community united behind a cause that touches nearly every family: cancer care.
“This draw is absolutely exploding,” said Steven Cook, Executive Director of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “To raise $75,000 in eight days is unheard of. Sales have doubled the Corvette draw, and we’re nearing quadruple what the Camaro brought in during its launch. This tells us people are excited, and more importantly—they understand the impact. Every ticket sold is helping save lives.”
For Russ MacDonald General Manager at Lange & Fetter Ford, supporting the cause hits close to home:
“While we’re proud to be a Trenton-based business, we recognize that BGH serves cancer patients across the entire region. I personally know many customers and friends who’ve had to undergo diagnostics or treatment there. The need is great—and we’re all in.”
To celebrate the campaigns initial success, the full Lang & Fetter team joined BGHF to unveil the brilliantly wrapped Mustang, designed by the team at Bullet Graphics—a show-stopping vehicle that’s now turning heads across social media and on the road.
This campaign follows on the heels of last month’s Car4Cancer Corvette draw, which raised over $342,000 and was won by local nurse Kelly Gerow—a story that captivated the community and underscored the local nature of the campaign’s impact. Peter Smith GM were instrumental in the initiatives success as a long time partner.
Now, the BGHF Board believes this Mustang draw may surpass the $400,000 mark for the first time in its 65-day run. If it does, it will be a powerful statement of just how much people care about keeping cancer care close to home.
“Every dollar raised through Car4Cancer directly supports patients in our region,” added Cook. “It helps us purchase vital equipment the government doesn’t fund, like precision diagnostic tools. It allows us to offer compassionate financial support to patients in crisis. And it gives access to life-saving treatments not covered by Cancer Care Ontario. The more tickets we sell, the more hope we can give.”
With patients coming from across Hastings, Prince Edward, Northumberland and beyond, Belleville General Hospital’s Regional Cancer Centre is a lifeline—and this campaign is helping it go further, faster.
