From the heartbeat of a tiny, unseen life to the overwhelming reality of an unexpected diagnosis …
Sarah Lundermeyer, a Physician’s Assistant at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital, found herself navigating the unexpected waters of becoming a patient in her own workplace. She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in the middle of her third pregnancy, and suddenly found herself navigating a path she had never walked before.
Though the experience was fraught with anxiety for Sarah and her family, it was also filled with moments of relief and gratitude. And, in the end, all these moments led to a joyous conclusion — the birth of a healthy baby girl at Belleville General Hospital!
