Gore Mutual Strengthens Community Impact with Donation to BGH Foundation

Demonstrating its purpose of delivering insurance that does good, Gore Mutual has donated $10,000 to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s Compassionate Care Fund. This impactful contribution, made in collaboration with McDougall Insurance, underscores Gore Mutual’s ongoing commitment to building stronger communities and championing causes that matter most to its broker partners.

As one of Canada’s oldest mutual insurance companies, Gore Mutual has a long-standing tradition of supporting meaningful initiatives through its Brokers for Good Program. Since its establishment in 1998, the Foundation has granted over $1.5 million to broker-nominated causes across Canada. These grants have supported vital efforts in climate change, poverty reduction, and equity, aligning with Gore Mutual’s mission to drive social responsibility and positive change.

Steven Cook, Executive Director of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, expressed gratitude for the business’s generous donation and ongoing support of equitable healthcare in the region. “Gore Mutual’s commitment to supporting our patients and families having less financial stress at a time of health crisis is invaluable,” said Cook. “Their contribution helps ensure that patients and families can focus on their health outcomes. On a recent visit to the Belleville General Hospital site, Gore Mutual’s Director of Ontario Broker Distribution, Stephen Corea, alongside long-time Gore Mutual partners, Lorne and Ross McDougall of McDougall Insurance, toured the hospital’s oncology and advanced diagnostic facilities. The visit offered insight into how Gore Mutual’s contribution is making a tangible difference for patients and families facing financial insecurity by supporting patient care, including such things as parking fees, meal vouchers, and other supplemental costs.

Partnerships and donations like these are becoming increasingly important for the Foundation with Quinte Health experiencing a 36% increase in cancer care services over the past 4 years.
