The Belleville General Hospital Foundation is celebrating another record-breaking milestone today at Lange & Fetter Ford in Trenton. The Mustang GT Convertible draw has officially crowned its winner, after the lottery sold out five days before the draw, with more than 19,000 tickets sold and over $303,000 raised for regional cancer care.
BGHF congratulates Randy Whaley of Trenton, who now holds the keys to a brand-new Mustang GT Premium Convertible. The Foundation also congratulates Mary Boisvenue, of Millgrove Ontario, who takes home more than $33,000 in cash from the 50/50 draw.
“This community continues to amaze us,” said Steven Cook, Executive Director of BGHF. “The growth of Car4Cancer has been unprecedented. And while we’re excited to announce the latest winner, we’re also thrilled to announce the launch of our next Lotto draw in early October—where, for the first time, the winner will have a choice: drive away in a brand-new Ford F-150 Lariat or take home $90,000 in cash. Who wouldn’t want that kind of prize, especially with the draw happening just in time for Christmas?”
Wayne Sheppard, Chair of the BGH Board of Directors, added: “When you play, you’re helping to solve a real problem. Cancer care is one of Ontario’s greatest healthcare pressures. Your ticket helps us give patients hope and the resources they need to keep fighting.”
Local partners are equally enthusiastic. Russ MacDonald, General Manager of Lange & Fetter Ford, noted: “The Dr. Douglas A. Macintosh Oncology Clinic serves cancer patients from across the Quinte region. It’s inspiring to see the Trenton community step up again to support care close to home, and we’re proud to be part of this effort.”
With 1 in 2 Canadians impacted by cancer in their lifetime, the need for local cancer care is growing every year. BGHF’s Car4Cancer lotteries are helping meet this need, funding critical programs and equipment to ensure patients and families have access to world-class care close to home.
