BGH Foundation Relaunches Door-to-Door Campaign to Grow Monthly Giving Movement

We are excited to announce that our door-to-door canvassers are once again active throughout the Quinte region, inviting residents to join our “Give Every Month” (GEM) program—a growing community of donors committed to sustaining local healthcare through simple, impactful monthly giving.
In an age of rising costs and growing healthcare demands, monthly giving provides a streamlined, cost-effective way for the Foundation to plan, respond, and deliver on our mission. By spreading support across the year, monthly donors help reduce administrative burden, minimize fundraising costs, and allow funds to go to work immediately supporting urgent needs like the replacement of essential medical equipment.
“Monthly giving isn’t just convenient for the donor—it’s transformational for us as a hospital foundation,” says Steven Cook, Executive Director of BGHF. “It provides reliable, sustainable funding we can count on, allowing us to focus on what matters most: improving patient care.”
Donors also enjoy a range of practical benefits:
- One consolidated tax receipt at the end of the year
- Less paperwork and fewer donation decisions to make throughout the year
- Immediate impact, with funds directed straight to priority areas
- A fulfilling sense of purpose and connection, knowing their ongoing support is helping real patients, every day
“We hear it time and again—our monthly donors love the sense of belonging,” adds Cook. “They know they’re part of a bigger movement, making a difference right here in our community.”
With over 800 monthly donors already part of the GEM family, the Foundation is aiming to grow this powerful base of support. Canvassers wearing red BGHF vests and official ID badges will be visiting neighborhoods across the region. They carry secure tablets for digital sign-ups and will never ask for cash or cheques at the door.
Monthly gifts—no matter the size—are the lifeblood of sustainable, high-quality care. From life-saving diagnostic tools to upgraded treatment equipment at the Dr. Douglas A. Macintosh Oncology Clinic, your monthly contribution helps keep care close to home for the entire Quinte catchment.
