BGHF and McDonalds stores in Belleville and Madoc are thrilled to announce that through the efforts of volunteers and team members from both organizations, they were able to successfully raise $10,000 on Wednesday, an amount that provides a huge boost on the way to purchasing a new ventilator for the ICU expansion at Belleville General Hospital.
With the cost of a new ventilator costing $47,000, Wednesday’s initial effort is short of the total goal, but hopes are high that future community involvement will help reach the goal.
BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook voiced his appreciation for the community support and the efforts from all the volunteers and team members.
“We’re extremely thankful for Bob Doyle’s initiative to donate one dollar for every hot beverage sold and were thrilled to team up with him and all the teams at the various McDonald’s locations to raise the funds needed to purchase a new ventilator.”
“The community support was simply spectacular. We’re super grateful for such an amazing group of volunteers who showed their heart and passion for local health care. We couldn’t have done this without them!”
Bob Doyle, owner of the McDonalds stores in Belleville (North Front St, Bayview Mall, Walmart) and the Madoc store, also voiced his appreciation for the community support.
“Front-line workers and our local health care deserve the best and latest equipment. This initiative is one way we can support them. It was fantastic to see so many guests show their appreciation through their direct donations to the BGHF volunteers in the drive-thru’s and through the purchase of our McDonalds hot beverages.”
