During COVID-19 The Beer Store began an initiative allowing customers to donate their empty return containers in support of local hospitals. The Beer Stores surrounding Belleville General Hospital have collected funds with the support of staff and dedicated customers. All money donated through empty returns during this time went direct to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
Those donations have been collected and counted and The Beer Store on Station Street, South Front Street, Tweed, Madoc, Marmora and Northbrook are pleased to announce they have raised over $42,000 for BGHF.
The Station Street Beer Store Manager Michele Tsichlas says, “we are thrilled to be able to give back in this way. It was really all the communities coming together and we at The Beer Store were just happy to be able to coordinate this and give back to our local hospital.”
Belleville General Hospital Foundation Executive Director Steve Cook says, “What an incredible show of support from The Beer Stores in our region. Thank you to all the staff and customers for this incredible display of generosity. We know it was a tremendous effort to coordinate and collect these donations and the Foundation wants to let the public know that these initiatives help keep exceptional care close to home.”
