Heroes and Villains united for a special cause – raising funds to make health care better at BGH. The Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) is excited to announce that a heroic $220,000 was raised during its annual gala at Avaya in Belleville, this past Saturday, September 22nd. Proceeds from the gala go toward purchasing medical equipment for BGH.
Over 250 heroes and villains attended the gala and graciously showed their support during the live auction with Boyd Sullivan and the Fund-A-Need auction with Mark Philbin. Collectively, these auctions generated over $110,000. Donations to the Fund-A-Need will purchase Arthroplasty Power Sets or the, ‘tools of human carpentry’ – drills and saws that Orthopedic Surgeons use to preform hip and knee replacements at BGH. This essential equipment is vital to our community. Last year over 1000 hip and knee surgeries were performed at BGH.
The BGHF has committed to providing $2 million annually, to Quinte Health Care’s Belleville General Hospital, for new and replacement medical equipment, building, and technology. This gala goes a long way in supporting that goal.
An event of this magnitude is not possible without the support of generous community sponsors and donors, numerous volunteers, and a hard-working committee – a huge and heroic thank you, to all who were involved. A special thank you to our heroes, presenting sponsors – McDougall Insurance & Financial and Williams Hotels.
BGHF’s mission is to inspire community giving at all levels to improve health care outcomes for the people of Quinte through support for BGH. We connect a community who cares to the community hospital that cares for them.
