Sunshine and Generous Cyclists Means a Great Fundraiser for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
Over 60 cyclists took part in the first ever “Freedom Ride for Health” bike ride this past Saturday. The cyclists left from West Zwick’s Park – Lions Pavilion and over the Norris Whitney Bridge for a 45 or 70 km ride into Prince Edward County. The event was organized by Dr. Shalea Piteau, Dr. Erin Falconer, Bob Doyle, Ingrid Moore and Adam Tilley. Over $5000.00 was raised and will purchase priority medical equipment for Belleville General Hospital.
There was a kids 4 km ride and 11-year-old Peyton Bourgeois was the top fundraiser. He raised over $520.00 in donations and won a new bike courtesy of The Brake Room.
The event was made possible by title sponsors The Brake Room and Pioneer Health Services and sponsors: Eastern Design Windows & Doors, McDonalds’ Belleville, Big Red Bow and The City of Belleville.
