Jun/11/2020

This year’s inaugural tournament was held at Black Bear Ridge Golf Course on Thursday June 13th and will support the new Fracture Clinic at Belleville General Hospital (BGH).  Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) has committed to raise $375,000 in support of this project.

 Winningduo

Title sponsors Williams Hotels and Alexander Wilson Architect Inc. broke into two teams for a Ryder Cup style golf event for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s “Fairways for Fractures” fundraising golf tournament.  Congratulations to Joe Letersky and David Amelotte of Team Williams who were top winners of the day leading Team Williams to the Top Team!  Joe and David will be supporting their Master’s style jackets around town compliments of Lafferty’s Mens Wear.

Additional winners include:

Dr. Herb Ling – Closest to the Prince Eddy’s Keg

Liz Knuude – Closest to the Sandbanks Winery Gift Basket

Lisa Panciuk – Women’s closest to the pin

Paul Ferguson – Men’s closest to the pin

Co-sponsor and committee member, Brad Williams, Executive VP, Williams Hotels, says “We are absolutely thrilled to have been part of the inaugural “Fairways for Fractures” golf tournament.  Together we have raised over $46,000 for the Fracture Clinic in Belleville, and together we have made health care better!  Our hope is that this tournament will be even bigger in the next three years with our ultimate goal of raising $250,000 for the fracture clinic.  I personally want to thank everyone who attended, we couldn’t have done it without you.  The new format created a buzz that I am sure will make this the “must attend” tournament in Belleville for years to come!”

Alexander Wilson Architect Inc. Founder and Principal Architect, Sandy Wilson believes in supporting healthcare in the Quinte community, where he opened a new office in November 2018. As a past golfer in previous BGHF golf tournaments, “If you have ever participated in a BGHF golf tournament (particularly one organized by the Williams Family!) you will know the fun of participating as well as the intense satisfaction of making the world a slightly better place.”

BGHF, Executive Director Steve Cook, “We are so pleased to have this turnout for “Fairways for Fractures”. We are very grateful for the support from our sponsors.  We are especially thrilled to have Belleville Native Marc Crawford take time out from his new Assistant Coaching duties with the Chicago Blackhawks and join us for this day.”
