There is nothing better than being part of a great team.
When I was growing up in Cambridge Ontario, my parents taught me just how important it was to be involved in the community. Whether it was through church events, coaching sports, or volunteering time at the local homeless shelter, giving back was always a team effort.
In my role as an Emergency Department (ED) physician at BGH, I would say that the team I am on is both the best part and the most important feature of my job.
If we didn’t work as a team, lives would be lost.
And donors are a vitally important part of our BGH team!
Donations are saving lives each and every day. Donors make it possible for our team here in the emergency room to do our jobs to the best of our ability.
And today, you have the opportunity to make a gift that would touch the lives of every single person who comes into the hospital.
Right now, we are short on team members. Specifically, we need new Vital Signs Monitors. And I know that I can count on you to help us reach our goal.
We use Vital Signs Monitors on all people who come into the ED, and it is the very first thing I look at when I see a new patient. In simple terms, it measures heartrate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate which are basic indicators of a patient’s health status.
These monitors help us act quickly in the critical situations we see every day in our Emergency Department.
And right now, we don’t have enough machines for our current caseload.
But your gift to BGH Foundation can ensure all patients get exactly what they need – when they need it!
Vital Signs Monitors are essential to what we do. From elderly patients who come in with heart problems, to small babies who are having trouble breathing, to people who have been in serious motor vehicle accidents – being able to assess vital signs quickly and accurately is often a matter of life or death.
Truly, these machines are a key player on our team. Without the equipment we have, we couldn’t offer the excellent care we strive to provide. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do. There is just no substitute for good quality equipment. Without it, we simply couldn’t operate.
The purchase of each of these machines was made possible by someone in our community who donated to the BGH Foundation.
A donor just like you!
And right now, we need to raise $84,000 to purchase new Vital Signs Monitors and to replace aging and out of date machines we are currently using.
We really need your help. I hope you will consider making a donation today so we can ensure these critical pieces of equipment are here when our team needs them most.
My job can be really difficult. There is a lot of stress and uncertainty in the Emergency Department. But by far the greatest thing about my job is delivering the best care possible to our patients with the best team imaginable.
Thank you for your donation to BGH, and for being such an incredible member of the BGH team!
