QHC Speed & Care Saved My Life!

On December 1, 2009, I had a heart attack.

I arrived at Quinte Health Care North Hastings hospital at approximately 12:00pm and within minutes I was hooked up to an EKG machine and was administered TNK, a clot busting drug, that stopped the heart attack and stopped the pain. Dr. Munoz and the nurses handled everything so calmly and efficiently and within a couple of hours I was on my way to Kingston General Hospital. Looking back on the experience I don’t think they could have been more professional or kinder to me. Their speed and care helped to save my life.

In Kingston, after six days, I had quadruple bypass surgery and five days later I was sent home. After a week at home I developed an infection and was rushed by ambulance back to QH North Hastings hospital. While being monitored at the hospital, I had x-rays, ultrasounds and blood tests. I experienced some serious complications and was sent by ambulance back to Kingston General for another two weeks.

While a patient in Bancroft hospital I was seen and treated by several doctors and nurses. I felt the care I received was excellent! The care and comfort was the best and I thank you for making my experience a very positive one.

Thank you,

Lois Jan-Golton
